1956 Austin Healey 100

Sold - California!

Sunnyside Chevrolet of Elyria, Ohio in conjunction with Greg's Sports, Classic, & Muscle is proud to offer for sale this beautiful 1956 Austin Healey 100 BN2 with “M” Conversion!!!!!!

In the Healey world there are Healeys that you drive, Healeys that you show and then there are Healeys that are over the top show stopping beauties. Let's put this one firmly in the third category. There is only one word to describe this car- STUNNING. Not close, not almost, not if we only did this to it. Needs nothing to be STUNNING.

Ok you say, so what Greg? I say, lets start with pedigree. NUMBERS MATCHING BN2 with Heritage Certificate to prove its all correct and restored to its original livery of Ivory White over Black with a beautiful black interior. BN2 production was a total of 3924 cars. This is one of those- how many remain? How many of them are done like this?

Some history- we have titled ownership history copies from Ohio going back to 1985. We have a record of when this car was sold on Ebay in 2010 for the princely sum of $60,289.00. We have a written statement that when it was sold on Ebay it had just completed a 3-year, frame off restoration. At the time of restoration Healey engine specialist Leo Rouf did a complete “M” spec upgrade to include M spec pistons, M spec cam and lifters, new valves and all seals, an original 100M intake and original correct x designation carbs, cold air box and much more. This must have been a very nice car to sell for 60K in 2010. We have copies of an appraisal done in 2010 by Phil Stallings Classic Cars in the amount of 60K.

Enter the new owner. Obviously, this was not a man who was satisfied with “good enough”. The car, though it may have been really good, was sent to Healey Werks in Lawton Iowa. These guys have been preeminent Healey restorers since 1987. The car was there for 5 years and 28 itemized pages of work and parts. The BN2 was literally taken down to the last nut and bolt and totally restored. Hundreds of photos of the work are still available on their website and the lengths to which they went are truly amazing. We have no dollar amount for this restoration, but experience tells us this restoration was more than 100K. We don't regularly fawn over cars. We do this one. It's that good and we are proud to own it.

My brother John and I have personally driven this car and it is one of the nicest Healeys we have ever driven, and we believe we have conservatively driven over 150 of them. We haven't driven it far. It's way too nice for us to take a chance with- if it got a stone chip I'd cry- Yep it's that nice.

Look at the photos and expect the best and you will not be disappointed. I would fully expect this car to sell at a really nice auction in the 110-125K range. I am prepared to sell the car for less than auction value. For a confidential discussion regarding this car please feel free to call my personal cell phone at 440 823 0247.

Drive it, show it, keep it in a bubble and polish it as a prized possession, the choice is yours once you make it yours.

We stand behind our thoughts on this car by offering our travel expenses guarantee- come see the car and if we have materially misrepresented its condition we will gladly pay half of your travel expenses up to $500.00- this offer had been in place since we sold our first classic and we haven't paid the money yet…. We pride ourselves on having good cars and representing them properly.

Additional pictures and video are available, please call 440-365-7311 for more photos, information or to schedule a test drive.
