She's real fine my 409- sorry couldn't help myself. I'm not real sure where to start with this beauty- She's a real Silver Blue Poly code 912 Sport Coupe for starters- could be the absolute best color for this car. Now let's throw in a 409 that we have dressed to perfection that motivates this Impala down the road quite nicely. Did we mention it's a 4-speed?

We were offered this car a number of months ago out of a long-term family ownership. Like a lot of these long-term cars this one had fallen into a storage situation while life went on around it. When we pulled her from the garage we went to work. John and I realized the bones were good- very solid but somewhat neglected we went to work to turn this into what we think is a very desirable car. First, we did some minor paint touch ups down the sides from the typical garage bruises. Then came the fun stuff. Got the truck block 409 running strong, went through the brakes and made sure that the car was going to perform as we expected and we got her going down the road nicely.

Next came what can we improve? We added Vintage air-conditioning and power steering to make it a little more civilized. Disc brakes were already present. We had to go with a correct 409 Chrome air cleaner and correct 409 chrome valve covers. The Muncie 4 speed was already a nice performing unit so no changes there. What could look better on a 63 Impala then a nice new set of Torque Thrusts in chrome shod with a set of great looking redline radials? Dual exhausts help this Impala breath properly and give it that just right look from the back. Some select new trim items and emblems and we are closing in on what you see here today.

We'd call the paint quality very nice- certainly good enough for your local cruise ins and shows. The interior is very nice in black with buckets and a console and a nice compliment of gauges over the console housing that very desirable 4 speed. Most of the stainless is original and nice. The bumpers are original an might be the one area of the car the next owner may consider upgrading. That's going to be a personal choice.

Anybody out there want a post car? NOPE. Anybody out there want a green car? NOPE. Anybody out there want an automatic? NOPE. Anybody out there want a Grandpa Impala? NOPE.

If you have been looking for a very nice, very desirable 63 sport coupe in a great color with a big engine and a 4-speed with air then you may have just found your perfect cruiser.
