Ok, I will admit it- sometimes we buy stuff for this department just cause its cool. That was obviously the case here and if you didn't think it was cool you wouldn't be reading this would you? So, now we have established its off the charts cool (think Euclid Beach, Coney Island) let's talk about what it is….

In the late 40's a chicken farmer in California named R.D. Taylor Sr. needed a way to haul his chicken feed around and he came up with carts to haul it. He then started selling his carts to neighboring farmers and he was asked to come up with a motorized cart and he developed the predecessor to this great little buggy. In 1955 he partnered with Fred Dunn and the two started developing a powered shopping car that was fully street legal. Today we know them as neighborhood electric vehicles. This is a very rare open cab model used in southern California and is 1 of 51 purported known to exist and is highly sought after by collectors of “such things”. This one spent all its time in California and was used until 1965.

In 2020 the Trident underwent a full restoration including 7 brand new HD batteries. Manufactured in 1959 by Taylor-Dunn in California and sporting its original California Black Plate this one is sure to be the hit of anyone's collection. Turn signals, lights, horn, flashers all work with all new upholstery. She's got about a 50-mile range on a full charge and will run 19 to 26 MPH depending on who's driving, how much the driver weighs and how flat the road is….
