Sunnyside Chevrolet of Elyria, Ohio in conjunction with Greg's Sports, Classic, & Muscle is proud to offer for sale this beautiful 1955 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible!!
One of just 3950 Eldorado's built by Cadillac in 1955. How many can survive? There are so many of them that are fully restored and priced accordingly, 125K, 150K, 175K, and more. We were excited to get the opportunity to own this one that runs and drives and can be offered for sale at a very reasonable price.
We know the history on this old caddy back to day one. As the plate in the engine compartment shows it was delivered to Meyer Kramer of Cleveland Hts Ohio in March of 1955. The car stayed with him until it was inherited by his son. A few years ago, the gentleman we bought it from purchased it from the son's estate but he knew the car for years and years having grown up in Cleveland Hts -this car was a local celebrity. We are proud to have it.
This beauty was built as a code 94 paint car, Cadillac Bahama Blue Poly, great name huh? Repainted in a shade very close in the '70s the family had the paint redone and added the obligatory '70s metalflake. We think it's pretty cool. The paint is obviously older and the car was done the way most of them were done in the '70s. The bottom of the car has filler- no doubt but it's not obnoxious or popping. The frame is very good- the floors are very good. The wheel lips and rockers are there and appear solid but have filler.
The interior is trim 92 which is Blue leather and white leather. We believe the interior on this car is original from the seats to the door panels to the carpets. The top bows are present with new cylinders but the top material itself is gone.
The engine compartment houses the original motor and the original batwing air cleaner and dual 4 barrels. One exhaust manifold is cracked but quiets when the car gets warm. I have personally driven this car a few miles and it runs and drives but of course, would need a bit of attention to be a cross country contender.
All of the chrome and trim is present some of it is fair, some of it is good, and some very good. Having a complete car when you are looking at one of these is very important.
Looking for a great way to get into a 55 Eldo on a budget? this may very well be your car. Thinking this is a Pebble Beach Concours car at this price point… better to look elsewhere.
Drive it, show it, keep it in a bubble and polish it as a prized possession, the choice is yours once you make it yours.
We stand behind our thoughts on this car by offering our travel expenses guarantee- come see the car and if we have materially misrepresented its condition we will gladly pay half of your travel expenses up to $500.00- this offer had been in place since we sold our first classic and we haven't paid the money yet…. We pride ourselves on having good cars and representing them properly.
