1957 Chevrolet Bel Air

1957 Chevrolet Bel Air

**** HEADED TO MECUM IN MAY!! SEE YOU THERE!! ***

CONSIGNED TO MECUM INDIANAPOLIS.

Sunnyside Chevrolet of Elyria, Ohio in conjunction with Greg's Sports, Classic, & Muscle is proud to offer for sale this beautiful 1957 Chevrolet Belair Dual Quad Convertible.

Antique Auto Club of America Senior First Prize Winner 2012. Antique Auto Club of America Senior Grand National Winner 2014. End of description and enough said. Just kidding, but really when you say AACA Grand National Winner you've already said it all. This is not some classic car guy (me) talking about the quality of this car it's the AACA. In a sea of 57 Chevrolet's available for sale these awards simply put this car head and shoulders above all the others and make this car INVESTMENT GRADE.

Did we say Dual Quad- Oh yes and it's the 270 Horse Duntov High Lift Cam Dual Quad which is the highest horsepower available without going to the troublesome Fuelie engine. Zora Arkus-Duntov,is a name which brought performance to Chevrolet in the 50's. Yes, he was the Corvette maven but his performance skills spilled over into other models like this very special 270 horse engine in this Belair. The 270 Horse Engine required a three-speed manual transmission and that is of course what is in this very correct car. Power steering makes this Tri-5 a joy to drive and man does it make a great sound when you put your foot into those dual quads….

Finished in its correct livery of Matador Red with Silver and Red interior (per the original trim tag) the attention to detail on this car is amazing. The engine compartment presents itself like jewelry. The paint, interior and chrome in all areas is outstanding. You know how sometimes when you look at a “complete restoration” that the devil is in the skipped details? Not here. No old rubber left in place around wind wings that were never removed or rechromed, no chrome that was undone because it was “good enough”. No gauges unrestored because they were “good enough”. You will simply not find those types of shortcuts on this car. If you are looking for an area to be critical of the underside has not been kept pristinely detailed and the car has seen some use. We will be spending some time re-detailing the underside for this cars next caretaker.

Look at the 57 convertibles on the market at any given time and ask yourself a couple of questions- do they have dual quads, are they completely, correctly restored and finally, do they have a pedigree? This one checks all the boxes and is a joy to behold. When you look at the market we believe you will see this car represents an exceptional value. Remember its not us saying it, it's the AACA. Invest in the best and you will never be disappointed.

Drive it, show it, keep it in a bubble and polish it as a prized possession, the choice is yours once you make it yours.

We stand behind our thoughts on this car by offering our travel expenses guarantee- come see the car and if we have materially misrepresented its condition we will gladly pay half of your travel expenses up to $500.00- this offer had been in place since we sold our first classic and we haven't paid the money yet…. We pride ourselves on having good cars and representing them properly.
