One of just 10,954 Corvette Split Window Coupes produced in 1963 this great car is just to us out of long-term ownership. When we had the opportunity to purchase this car, from a real gentleman in his 90's, we jumped at it. He owned this Split for over 35 years and he loved it and cared for it.

This is a real factory Riverside Red car with black interior per the trim tag. The numbers matching 327, backed by a powerglide, performs very well having benefitted from a quality rebuild in its past. We did not get these details from the owner but rather an inspection of the bottom end of the engine when we needed to replace a pan gasket. The tech doing the inspection felt that the engine was clean, fresh and well done.

Equipped with power steering and power brakes this 63 is a joy to drive and nicely equipped based on how Chevrolet was building these cars at the time. Only 3063 Corvettes were built with power steering in 63 and even less, 2621 powerglide cars were built.

When you see this car in person it has a very honest appearance to it- straight, unmolested and obviously cared for. The paint was done before the previous owner bought it but it would be very hard to tell that based on looking at it- the paint, save for a couple of minor flaws, has held up and presents amazingly. The engine compartment is clean and neatly detailed, the underside is straight ands well presented. The interior is nice and clean but again, not done last week.

One of the interesting things were learned about 63's came from a discussion with our local Corvette Expert about the cream plastic hood locators we found on this split- we had never seen these before and our vette guy told us that they were indeed factory but that many did not survive the test of time.

With the Split Window market on fire right now it's a great time to invest in a quality 63 like this before they become priced beyond what a very limited production car could justify in value. If you are in the market for a good, straight, honest numbers matching Split that would show well at most cars shows, you may well have found your car.
