Sunnyside Chevrolet of Elyria, Ohio in conjunction with Greg's Sports, Classic, & Muscle is proud to offer for sale this beautiful 1958 MGA Twin Cam Roadster
Let me state this right up front- this car is the very car that was displayed for MG at the Paris France Auto Show in 1958. It is a very unique car and has been restored to an incredible level- this is not your average Twin Cam. This car is investment grade.
This 1958 MG MGA twin-cam roadster was manufactured between July and August, 1958, and was dispatched that September to Paris, France, for use as a display vehicle at the 1958 Paris Motor Show. It was the subject of a four-year cosmetic and mechanical refurbishment completed in 2022 by Muncie Imports and Classics of Muncie, Indiana. Work included repainting the exterior in Old English White, refinishing the frame, refurbishing the red interior, and rebuilds of the 1,588cc twin-cam inline-four and four-speed manual gearbox.
The car is equipped with a chrome grille, bumpers, 15″ wheels with knockoffs, a cabin heater, a banjo-style steering wheel, and a removable black soft top and side curtains. This MGA was originally finished in Old English White, and it was disassembled and stripped prior to metal repairs and a repaint during the 2022 refurbishment.
Features include chrome bumpers with overriders, and a black soft top with side curtains. Photos documenting the recent body and paint work are provided in the gallery below. Steel wheels are secured with two-eared knockoffs and wear Dunlop tires. A matching spare is housed within the trunk. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes. The cabin was re-trimmed with red leather upholstery, which covers the center armrest, dashboard trim, and fixed-back seats. Equipment includes a period refurbished Smiths heater and a dash-mounted rear-view mirror.
A 38-page invoice from Muncie Imports and Classics of Muncie, Indiana totaling $173,608 details work that was performed during the refurbishment. You did not misread- 173K in restoration receipts!
Since our acquisition of this stunning and extremely rare, one-of-a-kind Twin Cam, we contracted with our friend Daryl Wagner at Automotive Artistry to do a final fettling on this car to make sure it performs as it should. As usual Daryl did an outstanding job and our receipt for $4,300.00 is also attached- Thank you Daryl !!!
Drive it, show it, keep it in a bubble and polish it as a prized possession, the choice is yours once you make it yours.
We stand behind our thoughts on this car by offering our travel expenses guarantee- come see the car and if we have materially misrepresented its condition we will gladly pay half of your travel expenses up to $500.00- this offer had been in place since we sold our first classic and we haven't paid the money yet…. We pride ourselves on having good cars and representing them properly.
