1982 Buick Grand National

Sold - Barrett Jackson January 2022

Sunnyside Chevrolet of Elyria, Ohio in conjunction with Greg's Sports, Classic, & Muscle is proud to offer for sale this beautiful Buick Grand National RESTOMOD.

OK so who's crazy enough to take a 82 REAL Grand National and stuff an LS motor in it? Our buddy Buck. Then, who's crazy enough to buy that car because it's cool as Hell? Us. The crazy, sometimes called stupid, Pawluk Brothers here at Sunnyside Sports, Classic and Muscle. John and I prefer crazy for the record.

Our now friends Josh and Eric at NexGen Performance in Spencer, Mass built this beauty and we are proud to be its current owners. There were only 215 Grand Nationals built in 1982. They looked great, but with V6 power, man they were anemic. Enter our buddy Buck and the brothers Buzzell at NetGen. Buck commissioned the brothers to build him a Grand National that wouldn't get its doors blown off by every form of modern mom wagon on the road. This is that car. It was the subject of a Car Craft magazine article. We have that article as well.

The brothers started with an all-aluminum LS2 motor, added a 4L65E 4-speed automatic, and then installed a Ford 9 inch to get the power down. Wowsa. Add a hotter cam, Hooker manifolds and exhaust and a Holly aluminum oil pan and we are well on our way to one big smile. 3.70 gears coupled with the overdrive trans make this one off the line fast monster that cruises comfortably on the highway. Ford sourced rear discs were added to the 9 inch so we could have 4 wheel disc stopping power.

Dorman front control arms, QA1 coil springs, and KYB gas shocks get us to a very stock, correct ride height. The rear control arms are stock with Bear Metal weld braces. A QA1 sway bar, SPC Performance coil springs, and KYB gas shocks out back complete the package. Drag Graphix in Brookfield, Mass installed a glass power dome hood and laid down the correct 82 only paint scheme in a very slick fashion and did the shadowed Buick quarter panel logo.

When we ran this car though our shop one of our long time drag racer, grey haired technicians, Jim, who did the service inspection on this car brought it back to us with the biggest fricken grin on his face we have ever seen. When asked what the goofy look was for, he handed over the keys and said “drive it”. That's one heck of an endorsement from a long time ¼ mile master…..

Drive it, show it, keep it in a bubble and polish it as a prized possession, the choice is yours once you make it yours.

We stand behind our thoughts on this car by offering our travel expenses guarantee- come see the car and if we have materially misrepresented its condition we will gladly pay half of your travel expenses up to $500.00- this offer had been in place since we sold our first classic and we haven't paid the money yet…. We pride ourselves on having good cars and representing them properly.
