Often spoken of in Healey circles as the best-looking Healey ever built, this Healey 100 also presents itself in what may be the best color as well- black. Not a color change this is indeed a documented factory black hundred with correct red “trim” (interior). Wow. Not many built in black. This is not speculation; this is per the Heritage Trust Certificate from the British Motor Industry.

We love our Healey's here at Sunnyside Sports, Classic and Muscle and we love this one and also speak Healey. John and I have been around these cars for longer then we care to admit and have owned many Healey's from rusty projects to show winners. It's not easy to find a car of this caliber and we can speak to that from experience.

So, they started with a real Black BN1 and then installed a correct 4 speed BN2 trans. Next, for a much-needed boost from the factory 90 horsepower the restorer of this hundred went the full schmegeggy. Let's start with a Westlake Aluminum cylinder head with larger valves with ported and polished cylinders. Just to do a bit of name dropping- Moldex forged crankshaft, Carillo rods, Venolia pistons, 2” SU carbs, competition cam and lifters, cold air box, lightened and balanced crankshaft, and more in the engine compartment. Delightful. Snick the starter button, hit the gas and smile- it's just that simple.

Now that we have discussed the heart let's talk about the entire patient. Wonderful. That's it in one word. Stunning paint and body panel fit and straightness. Excellent red interior. (The top boot has some staining; we are working on some options). Beautiful engine compartment and underside restored to a better than Healey ever built level. Excellent boot area (trunk for you non speakers). Chrome wires, Vredestein tires.

This beauty is a true joy to drive- its impressive. Everything has been attended to on this Healey and if you are looking for the consummate 100 with M options without breaking the bank for a Factory M (think 175 for a car of this quality) this may very well be exactly what you are looking for. I should mention there is no top or side curtains for the 100 but if you own and drive your Healey's like I do mine, that top ain't never gonna be up anyway. 24 years for my Hundred without ever considering putting the top up.

If you are even remotely in the market you are going to want to consider this car- its that special.
